Montague Street, Worthing
Not the most inspiring photo, and it's another monochrome, but I took it to remind myself of the lengths some people go to for their children.
Worthing isn't a million miles from home (about 15 minutes in the car), and normally I would only go there if I had a number of things to do or get. However, this story involves Elliot (aged 9), and his little 'girlfriend' from school (I refer to her as little because, like Elliot, she is very petite, so they are a good match). It's her birthday at the weekend, and he wanted to get her something, but as they are normally too shy to even talk to each other, he didn't quite know what she might like.
Enter Mummy, with her bright ideas and boxes of beads. I offered to make her a bracelet and personalise it by adding her name. Only problem was, I didn't have any alphabet beads (everything else, but those). So there I found myself in Worthing, purely to buy enough beads to spell her name...Catalina. That's 15 minutes driving each way, to purchase 8 beads.
The bead shop is on Montague Street, hence the photo. And here I have recorded this, so that if, in years to come they should still be friends, I can remind him what I did for Catalina's 10th birthday.
