Night Mov(i)es

These are a row of three much photographed windmills (though you can only see two...) just ouside Leidschendam. Very popular for stock photo sites it would appear, so I wanted to get a shot that was a little different.

The most obvious option was a night shot as it's pretty much always night when you're working seven days a week in winter. I also (it being a clear sky) wanted to make a timelapse movie of the stars movingover the windmills and this shot is the first of that sequence.

In the absence of a tripod I stuck the camera on the panier carrying bit on the back of the bike, it worked quite well so long as there was a reasonable countdown before the pic was taken so the bike could stop wobbling.

Not sure what the guy living in the windmill must have thought, seeing some lunatic dressed head to foot in black hopping around next to a propped up bike on his driveway on a tuesday night...
