Aberdour Castle

I don't usually get a chance to walk around the castle grounds during the week but while off today I took a wee detour on way home from the shops.

That may have had something to do with the lovely Tea Room :-)

There are far more extensive and useable parts to the 13th centrury castle than shown here and a delightful walled garden and terraces. It also has a great beehive shaped dovecot (all of which I'm sure will be blipped come sunnier days!)

It's reputably the 'oldest standing masonry castle in Scotland' (so us locals say anyway!)
