Millenium Bridge

Was out with Mal yesterday and ended up on Newcastle Quayside again.

Been trying settings on the 5D MkII and have now set it to permanently under expose by one stop to get the best results.

Taken with Canon EOS 5D MkII and Canon 17-40 F4L at 17mm.

ISO 50 ~ F4.0 ~ 1/800 sec ~ pattern metering ~ exposure bias -1 step.

Opened in Photoshop CS5 where I boosted contrast slightly, dodged certain areas including the buildings in the background, parts of the bridge etc, sharpened using a duplicate layer, high pass filter and setting the layer to pin light. Merged layers, desaturated the photograph boosting red slightly and reduced to 800 on longest edge and then used the Nik Software Efex Pro Filter and used a high contrast orange filter to bring out the details in the clouds.
