Rusting On The River
The SS United States was originally built in 1952 as a luxury cruise ship that could be used on short notice as a very fast troop transport ship if the need arose. Since 1969 it has languished and rusted as various owners and investors have tried but failed to give it some kind of life. It has sat as you see it on Philadelphia's Delaware Riverfront for the past fifteen years, still in Limbo, but somehow liked by the city's residents. I've always wanted to go aboard and explore its innards, but this is not allowed.
