Bucharest Traffic

Bucharest should rank as a classic European city. It is not for the faint of heart. This shot taken in Piata Unirii gives something of the feel of the place: former Eastern bloc austerity attempting to embrace the commerce of the west. Dreary apartments adorned with corporate advertisments, chaotic traffic and a general level of decay on a scale that is difficult to appreciate to the unfamiliar. And this is the historic city centre of Romania, not a rundown suburb.
