Bit of colour

Perhaps it's now a cliched effect, but I rather like the selective use of colour. For me this picture sums up the feeling I get when watching a bird like this Grey Heron in the heart of the city. This bird was walking around in the Water of Leith, about ten minutes walk from our front door. Although I have been birdwatching on mountain tops and desolate beaches there is something special for me watching the birds that share our cities with us - like the pigeons outside Notre Dame I wrote about in my very first blip from back in April last year.
