Times Ed
When I was growing up, there were only 2 publications that regularly found their way into our house and which were always around to read. One was New Scientist; this was the other one! My parents never took a daily newspaper - they never had time to read one - they were both full-time schoolteachers with a very busy social life and a couple of kids to bring up, so sitting around reading didn't feature that strongly on their schedule!
When I left the classroom several years ago I didn't think I'd ever buy the Times Ed again. Yet here it is! If you missed Tuesday's blip, then you may not know that I have decided to return to the classroom! Some think I'm mad, many think I'm certifiable, but some also share my excitement. My mum was almost turning cartwheels over the phone when I told her - although she did ask whether I thought I'd be good enough at maths to teach it (I reminded her that I'm currently about half way through a maths degree, which she seemed to have temporarily forgotten)!
So, the Times Ed is back in the house! Memories of school are flooding back, I have a career ambition once again, and life seems to be one step closer to getting itself into some sort of order!
Crazy, busy, happy days!
But it IS Sunday today, so there'll be watching of telly, drinking of tea, and snoozing with cats too!
