Second in my photographer is dumber than the camera series. I was attempting to take a handheld closeup using flash and live view very high tech! Did not take camera off auto focus; upon pushing the shutter release the mirror flopped down and the camera attempted to focus unsucessfully until i aimed at a random subject determined by the camera: Camera 1 photographer 0.

This is interesting i have camera set for release priority live view seems to revert to focus priority have to recheck manual. What i would like is a live view that has a shutter trip only option yeah like the little P&S's perhaps the newer cameras with contrast focusing have this option?
