without becoming pictures

I like the over-processed contrast, I admit.

A few mornings ago, my mom asked me to take a look at some animal tracks that she noticed in the snow. Neither of us could tell exactly what had made them, but it was an interesting ponderance.

Today, with the snow much fresher and the top dusting completely frozen, I found the same precise tracks in the same precise position. As it turns out, a deer (or family of them) is traipsing the neighborhood late at night, walking quite flush with the house, and making a home of my parents' front and back yards. This is the only evidence we have, but it was fairly astounding to see it so clearly.
