Decorated spikes

Earrings, actually. But it wasn't until I was pawing through my collection this morning trying to decide which pair to wear that suddenly I heard the voice of my dad from years ago, saying to my mum: "And which pair of decorated spikes are you planning on pushing through your earlobes today?"

He, and my mum, thought that was really funny. I felt sick as I was just about to go into town to have my ears pierced ....

I've inherited his sense of humour, and I'm really glad about that.
