Gunnerside Bottoms

This is a classic Swaledale view - the view up Swaledale across Gunnerisde Bottoms, as these fields are known. This is not a very good photo but I was in a rush - the trick is to get up early, get the early sun from the East and the long shadows on the walls and barns - also orientate more to the South across the fields so you get the classic harmony of the wall and barn patterns. It deserves more effort than I gave it this afternoon - jumping out the car and blipping quickly - I will do it better later in the year. It is is one of the classic postcard shots of Swaledale - has appeared on many a card and calendar.
