Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

Our friends moved back to the States in August. They were very much like an extended family to us in London. In some ways i guess you could say Michele is one of my most intimate friends. I was at her side as she gave birth to both of her children. After supporting her through many long hours of labour. The look on her daughter's face as I cut the umbilical cord will stay with me forever. It was a life changing experience. It has bonded me to all of them in a way that feels very much like a blood tie.

It was terribly hard to say goodbye to her today.
