The Books Cover
The building opposite me is a juxtaposition of pretty and bland. It looks great from the outside but I actually viewed one of the flats with a view to buying it some time ago and it had been subjected to one of the most faceless makeovers I've ever seen. Denuded, stripped of any possible feature of interest, painted white and ruined in the process. But still, it looks pretty from our window.
This evening we went to see The King's Speech. Can thoroughly recommend it. Unbeknown to us, the showing was part of a nationwide live Q&A session, held in a cinema presumably in London, but shown live in cinemas across the UK and US. After the show, Colin Firth, Helena Bonham-Carter and others chatted about the film and answered questions from gushing audience members. Interesting.
