Wonderful sunny day to-day, although it was cold I was able to get to the woods as the snow has melted back considerably. I filled the feeder and retired to a suitable distance, it only took about 5 min. for the smaller birds to notice. I must have waited nearly an hour and I was beginning to cramp up with the cold when there was a sudden whirring of wings and "Woody" arrived. Past experiences has taught me to be very still at this point as he`s very watchful at first until he`s checked out the area... I managed a few shots but its important to avoid shadows as this kills the colour, just when it looked like it was going to settle down another one appeared and battled comenced...
