Flooding in Australia
Significant flooding occurred in many areas of Queensland late of December last year and early this year, with three quarters of the state declared a disaster zone. Just recently, towns in Victoria and some parts of the New South Wales were evacuated as levees weakened, becoming the latest areas touched by almost two months of floods enveloping the east coast after the wettest summer on record.
Perth, on the west, is enjoying beautiful weather while La Nina is feasting on the other side of eastern Australia.
