Wednesday: Preparing For The Students

There were a lot of police vans and policemen outside the office today, waiting for today's student protestors to arrive in Parliament Square.  I did go down and have a look at the protests this evening but they were nothing compared to what they have been.  There were only about 200-300 or so students, all being held in a self-contained area between Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square.  There was quite a party atmosphere to it all, helped by music.  

Have been listening to an old favourite.  This song has been covered by so many artists but this is my favourite version.  I still remember, though, the very first time I heard Leonard Cohen singing it - one of my definitive moments.  It was on a very tacky games show on German TV but he made it all cool.
