Not a Feather Out of Place
We were down to one swan today at the quay. The other four have disappeared for now. Hopefully they will come back :) They do seem quite friendly and swim over whenever they see me.
Today I noticed two things about this one. The first being one of her feathers sticking out at a jaunty angle. The second being that as she swam she left a trail of an oily like substance around her. I am sure this is not normal and I hope its not something picked up locally as it is an industrial area just a wee bit further down at the port. You can also see what looks like a tidemark around the base of her neck. I am sure she will get a ticking off from her Ma when she gets home tonight. I hope its nothing too serious!
I cropped it like this as otherwise there would have been a mass of dark blue water in the picture :)
Weather - cold and frosty start but turned out quite nice.
An office colleague and friend has asked me to police her cake intake from now until December in an affort to lose 2 stones. I suggested that we also do some walking at lunchtimes as that can only help. She was delighted with the offer. I did confess it was not entirely selfless - it will help me get out a bit more during the day and hopefully bring more variety to my blips :) Do I hear a sigh of relief from the blipland massive???
