Long Island
Drove around in Long island today. It has the most picturesque suburbs, pretty small towns and is quite a feast for the eyes. But the winter chill coupled with strong winds made long random walks difficult. We visited Fire Island, Stony Brook village and Port Jefferson grabbing some good food in between.
The beach on Fire Island is as serene as it is beautiful, its dunes decked with snow. I had to remind myself it was the one day I had so couldn't linger on indefinitely. If that wasn't the case, I would have continued walking on the shore until it would come to an end. I lose a sense of time when I do what I love.
