Murano Glass Clowns

Went to survey a house in Streatham, South West London. There I came across an extraordinary collection of glass figurines, based upon fish posing as clowns with accoutrements. Varying between 150mm. to 300mm high.

I suspect they are Murano glass clowns and that the bowls that were also in the collection were similarly Murano glass. Murano being a small island just North of Venice, Italy that specialises in handmade glass art.

I have never seen anything like it so photographed the whole lot. These were my favourites.

I went to Venice many years ago and I remember it well. It makes me want to go on holiday again.
