We Hate Oil

Last week two ships collided near Amsterdam, after which some dozens of birds were drowned in oil. As a result we have eight farmer geese* and two swans with oil in our bird centre. I stopped work a bit early today to help clean them. They did not particularly like the process though, somehow. These two swans still have to be cleaned - the geese are clean now.

It was a good test in case a proper oil spill, maybe on the North Sea happens one day.

* Is 'Farmer Goose' actually the English name or just a very wrong translation of his Dutch name?


Edit: this swan was actually not from the Amsterdam oil spil, but was found being covered in deep-frying oil....
