Kestrel - Tick!

Last year I set myself some photography goals. I managed to get all of them.

This year, one of the items on the list was to get a much better picture of a Kestrel. The best I managed last year was this one I blipped on the 5th of September..

I went and visited Newport Wetlands today, the first visit of 2011. I had a very productive day there. I will link to the Flickr set when I catch up with my photo editing.

This Kestrel was on his usual perch of the telegraph pole at the entrance to the reserve proper. For the first time I was able to get really, really close!
