Village chiefs in a meeting with us. I was participating in a supervision mission of one of our community-based development projects and had the chance of traveling to remote parts of Niger to meet our ultimate beneficiaries.

I was impressed by the dignity and determination of the population, even as it faces overwhelming odds and dramatic conditions for survival.
