Solar barque

Well, I was going to blip the pyramids in the RAIN because I'm betting all of you who have been here don't have those pix! Memphis and the colossal statue of Ramses, then Sakkara and the step pyramid - very wet- but the sun came out for Giza in the afternoon. What amazing feats of architecture!!!! But in spite of these sites with camels, as one who loves rowing boats, I'm choosing this boat that was discovered in a pit next to the great pyramid and reassembled. Was it a funerary boat for Khufu, as well as his transportation to the next world? Or was it the solar boat for the sun god to cross the sky every day. These oars are enormous - not possible to use.
We're off to the opera now- Aida, of course!! :-)
