The Moon on a Stick

All forms of women's liberation have passed by my daughter. She is totally scornful of any woman wearing trousers, or having <shock horror> short hair and by short she means not half way down your back. She will consider nothing but growing up to marry a prince and live in a castle and float around in proper dresses. It was her birthday party yesterday. This is one of her presents.

I was asked in the school playground what she wanted for her birthday and repeated what she'd told me when I'd asked her: "A real magic wand, one that works <glare> as the one you got me for Christmas doesn't; a real fairy to live in the garden, a prince to marry, a crown that lives on a cushion, my own palace, and a princess carriage bed."

And one of the mums obliged :D
