Up the pole but with a ladder!

Earthquake repairs and restoration go on in this suburb, one of the worst hit by the September earthquake. Some people here live in condemned homes, or rent. they have no idea when or if their homes will be rebuilt. One person we know was told at least 5 years and since she is in her seventies this is a very long wait. Some are still having to use portable toilets.

These men were repairing cables and enjoyed having the photo taken! it looks a pretty dangerous job, climbing around on the top of a power pole!!
