This might be a crocus...
This is a flower (I'm calling him a crocus, but that's because I only really know Daffodil, Daisy, Crocus and Snowdrop - have I shared too much ignorance?!?)
No.1 son brought these bulbs home in a decorated pot from his lovely childminder's just before Christmas and I was hugely concerned that I would do something to preclude their sprouting. But no. Hurrah! Flowers. Just out of shot you can also see 3 already dead ones - but I am proud anyway. I quite like the quiet, understated nature of there being something admidst all the chaos in our kitchen that has calmly made itself beautiful, without much (any) help from anyone else. Could we learn from this... probably..
And yes, I know it's a bit out of focus - I could tell you that I thought its muted winter beauty was so soft and delicate that I felt it was captured more perfectly whilst slightly out of focus - but in truth I couldn't seem to take clear photos to save my life today.
