Washed out

Yesterday it rained heavily all day onto saturated ground. The river was a brown torrent and flooded a good bit of the bottom field in this photo. In fact, the course of the river must have changed relatively recently - if you follow the river from the right, about a fifth of the way along the picture a line of trees diverge into the field and then loop back round to meet the river on the bend. This marks the line of the old bank and was clearly visible yesterday when it was full of water. Today it's calmed down a lot but it will take a while longer for all the water to drain away.
