No walk along the river bank today...

it is underwater.

Compare this image to this one. The tree you see is the same (note the sign on it). Here it is from another angle.

The footpath along the bank is completely submerged & the embankment swamped. I would normally approach the riverbank along the path that is under the body of water you see at the bottom left of the picture.

Still, there were a couple of canoeist having a whale of a time floating downstream when I was there.
