Waimakariri River

This evening my son took me for a drive to the Waimakariri Gorge. We left it a bit late because as we arrived there was low cloud and a fine mist. Even so, the water was a wonderful rich blue. It was lovely and fresh down on the riverbed. There were signs that the water level had recently been much higher than usual.

I am still taking it slowly, needing to lie down for a while after any mild activity. Most of the day was very hot, with sunshine and a warm nor'wester, and I didn't go outside much.
