Scaffolding

Today I was supposed to go flying, but the winds are too stong and the cloud base too low. So instead I had a few things to sort out.

The view from my sofa is distubrbed today by some scaffolding (and lots of dirt). There is a roofer putting some vents in the roof, as when the flats were built the ventilation wasn't sorted out. I'm told there are vents in the roof apex but the original roofers didn't cut the lining away so that air could get into the roof. Over the last couple of cold snaps, that has led to condensation inside the roof space, which over the years has seeped through the insulation and finally this Christmas got through the plaster.

Before Christmas, the builder cut the lining away which was fine in the main body of the roof, but my living room essentially has a flat roof which needed some extra vents installing. Hence the scaffolding.

Hopefully soon the roof will have dried out and I can redecorate the living room properly, covering these patches and the settling cracks.
