Challenge week 2 - Breakfast

....or rather before I made it!

I like eggs, they have such lovely textures and colours, and are really biological miracles.
We take then for granted, yet each one has grown from a tiny follicle no bigger than a pin head, in the ovary of a hen, and differentiated into yolk, albumin, (egg white) and been meticulously coated in a tough casing before being laid.

Even the shell is a marvel of engineering, as it is so thin, but relatively tough given it's composition.

And did you know you can get "fake" eggs for broody hens who haven't laid? we used to make do with golf balls, but as with everything, someone has designed a substitute, sells for a few pounds for 4 egg shaped pieces of plastic.

Hmm, think I prefer the real thing, scrambled, boiled, fried, poached.....I could go on.
Scrambled today, yum!
