My Buddha
I fell in love with this wall hanging scroll the first time I saw it almost two years ago. It reminds me of Cartman, from South Park, so I call him my Cartman Buddha.
It took a few months of bargaining before the woman in the shop and I came to an agreement. I asked how much, she said 600 yuan I said 200. Every few weeks I'd go back to see if it was still there and gush over how much I liked it. I know, not a good strategy but I'm not much of a bargainer. I'd ask how much, she'd say 500yuan, I'd say 200. Same thing week after week. The farthest she ever came down was 300yuan. When she'd see me coming with different friends each time to admire the scroll she'd immediately find it and show us.
One day I asked how much, she said 300 I said 200 she said 250. Huh? I was shocked. She budged! I was wearing her down after months of walking away. Ha Ha. I had her right where I wanted her. I pounced. 200! 250! Okay.
This would be a great story if I remembered how much I paid in the end.
Regardless, he's mine, mine, mine. My Cartman Buddha.
