Rockville Virginia

I have been busy running all sorts of errands hither and yon. Things to do, supplies to pick up, friends to see, and oh so many exciting things to wrap up for the journey ahead.

In between all of these real and imagined journies though are moments of calm and peace. Like this scene, just down the road from our house in rural Rockville Virginia.

I love the winter sky this time of year. Drawn taught like a sheet of celestial blue framing wispy white clouds. And there is something about the sun at these latitudes. It shines bright replacing the somber melancholy draped over the hills with an unexpected joy.

Together the slanting crispy sunshine and the airy blue sky in winter evoke a great openness and peace to me. A deep hush whispered quitely to listening ears. Wherever you are, don't forget to look up sometimes...
