Lake Benmore Spillway

Went for a drive today to get away from the town boundaries for a short while, the day was beautifully clear and sunny. we decided to got Lake Benmore to see the spillway as they are letting water out due to the massive amount of rainfall in the catchment area. I have never seen water being released this way before so it was worth the long drive. Took five hours roundtrip time I had stopped numerous times for photo opps along the way.
A good thing about this release of water has been the river systems being able to be flushed of the didymo build up. Now the fish will be able to forage for food along the river beds and a balance of life should return to the rivers.
