100 - not out!

Well, the weather finally defeated me. I'd hoped to avoid too many interior shots, but today was just too wet and too dark for photography. So my 100th blip is not outside!

Many people have extolled the virtue of Blipfoto much more eloquently than I can, and I echo the various sentiments that have been expressed. I joined as a personal challenge, initially to see whether I could take a photograph each day for a month (nothing too ambitiious!). The first ten days were quite hard, but I received warm support and good advice, which kept me going. I was soon addicted, and taking and uploading a blip now seems to form a natural part of my day.

The standard of photography on this site is so high. I've seen many inspirational images, learnt a great deal and have been encouraged to strive harder myself. I hope that my learning journey will continue, as I try to complete a year of unbroken blips (though I know this will probably involve back-blipping).

However, for me, it's the social aspect of the site that has been more surprising and valuable. During the last 100 days I've made some good friends, located all over the world, and shared a little bit of their world. Our love of photography has brought us together, but as a consequence I have a much greater feeling of being part of humanity world-wide.

I just want to thank all of those who have visited my journal, and especially those who have left comments. Also a big thank you to all those at Blipcentral who make everything possible.
