A piece of History

I just had to take a photo of this when I saw it in my wardrobe. Even if I look fat in it and the dress actually is a bit too big for me.

The dress is Finnish national dress, from Carelian region. From Sortavala to be precise. It's all made by hand, not a stitch is made by machine and it's listed in Finnish National Archives (to make a true finnish national dress is very strictly regulated). And best of all, it's made by my grandmother.

So in a way, a piece history in sitting in my wardrobe...
