As I mentioned in an earlier post, the plants in my care tend to (by anthropomorphism or by the time I take with them or by something like sentience) respond to the way I'm feeling or occasionally predict a coming mood or outlook.

My mom received an Amaryllis for Christmas and because I get the best morning light and because plants like to commune, she stashed it in my room. When I returned from New England, I moved it, watered it, and I've been watching it as it's improved to the point of shyly showing a bit of blush in place of the green it clung to a week ago.

Yesterday, I had a brilliant call with a career counselor and found 5 or 6 jobs to apply for, jobs that seem to fit, seem to work, jobs I think I'd actually enjoy. Today, when I woke up, the Amaryllis was open.

Coincidence? Probably. But I like the magically real.
