Man the Ramparts!!!

This is probably the original recipient of the date stone in the earlier image put up last week. This castle is to the rear of the present house which now has this stone.

The turreted house alongside was probably built in the interim period between the castle and the present house.

Unfortunately the fence is surrounding it due to its unstable manner and its probably wise not to get too close these days. Although not suitable for human habitation it does provide refuge for various forms of wildlife e.g., Pigeons ,Jackdaws, Rooks and the occasional drop in from a local Barn Owl.
