Butterfly

Yesterday I went with the photography club to the Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago. Its a great place to take young kids for some indoor fun in the winter.

In the museum is a butterfly sanctuary which houses more than 75 species of butterflies. The sanctuary is a 2,700 square-foot greenhouse filled with pools of water, flowers, tropical trees and 1,000 butterflies.

It was a wonderful opportunity and a much needed break from the cold outside. The sanctuary is kept at a balmy 85 deg F and will make you break a sweat chasing butterflies for a few hours. The butterflies were very social, fluttering around all morning, and felt comfortable enough to perch on a few photogs.

Though I captured many fabulous shots, this was my favorite of the day.

Hope you enjoy!
