A sad sign of the times

Whilst walking up Princes Street, I noticed that the East end branch of Waterstones had closed. I am sad about that ... after all for a city that is the 1st UNESCO City Literature and has a world famous book festival and not to mention, Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Walter Scott ... it is a shame. Now, you could probably count bookshops in the centre of Edinburgh on 1 hand.

I suppose we are all to blame - after all, how many of us buy from Amazon and the like! So can we really complain when our high streets are taken over by fast food outlets and estate agents?? Probably not.
