Edinburgh from the air
The airport was closed until 12 and my flight to Amsterdam was at 12.40pm. Arrived in sunshine on another beautiful day. Definitely did not want to leave Reservoir House.
However, the four of us had one last coffee at the airport's Costa and Dad gave me the news section of The Guardian, which is sitting beside me on the desk just now. I can read it and pretend I'm still in the UK.
Goodbyes were quite low key and less bad than last term.
Waited at the gate for quite some time, sent out farewell texts and got a few phonecalls. Boarded the half-empty flight and saw the most stunning views of Edinburgh. I was even able to spot where my house was amidst the snow and below the hills.
It was a wonderful way to leave Edinburgh.
Plus, approaching Amsterdam, the sky turned grey and full of dense cloud. I love all the different nationalities at Schipol.
Arrived. Felt sick. Waited for bag for too long. Met by Ami and back to her house - a lovely way to ease back into Canadian life.
