Dawn of a new year

Happy New Year!

This was taken at 05:23 this morning about two thirds of the way up Klein Hangklip (the mountain that overlooks Rooi Els, the village where we live). The bay on the right is Pringle Bay. Klein Hangklip is only about 380m high, but this morning, it might as well have been Everest :-O

We got to bed at 01:00-ish after some quiet partying with friends. I was up at 04:15 to get ready for what I was told was an easy walk; I've just dumped all my clothes in the wash after wringing the perspiration out of each and every piece. I absolutely know it will be a while before my knees and hamstrings are anywhere near normal again!

Mind you, this and a whole lot of other views like it made it all worthwhile.
