Bad Very sad news: - Tragic failure by her "friends"

This shows exactly how shallow some Facebook friendships are. You're telling me that not one of her 1000 Facebook knew her well enough to know whether she was serious or not and that not even the people who were in close proximity to her did one single thing to check on her? She must have been so terribly, woefully alone.

Good news: - Long time coming

Studies of smokers have long revealed that the incidence of lung cancer among African Americans is higher than in other ethnic groups. They are also the group to which menthol cigarettes are marketed to the most fervently and they consume more menthol cigarettes than any other ethnic group in the US. All ethnic genetic markers aside, that is rather a striking coincidence I would say. If every cigarette in the world could disappear in an instant at his very moment, I would be overjoyed.
