Chelsea Flower Show, here we come
More travels today, and ended up back in South Queensferry for a venue viewing. Stunning views over the Forth to Fife, with the railway bridge and wee islands all adding to the spectacle.
Detracting from the spectacle was this sad looking attempt at brightening up the town centre. Look, I'm not against these efforts, just don't plaster some supposedly chintzy snazzy clever slogan on flower beds that barely get enough sunlight and warmth in the summer* slightly better months to allow the currently frozen flowers to, well, flower. It is almost made worse by the fact that the council has realised the area is climatically challenged and added an ever-green to tide us over - for bloomage anyway - til the slightly better months.
Also noticed an attractive looking dish in amongst all the little seafood eateries down on the High Street, guess you have got to find your niche that can help you stand out from the competition. If it's all the same to you, I'll stick with the burger on offer next door...
* it's contentious as to whether we actually get a summer here
