Was It Really So Long Ago

Gardener's Friends

Today was to be a day for gardening, or rather, clearing a shady spot in the corner where last year we'd tried and failed to grow our brassicas.

Since nothing grows well there, the shed is going to find itself moved to the spot, and on the sunnier side where the shed now sits, we'll make our third and probably final attempt to grow decent sprouts. I'd grown more young plants than we needed and most annoyingly those extras I gave away turned into fine plants, with tight plump sprouts!!

Thanks to Katy and her I can cook programme, the girls were keen to help garden, but most importantly to grow bean sprouts. They also decided to help by making great big muddy puddles in front of the shed. The blame for that lies firmly with a certain pig called Peppa.

The robins darted in and out of the surrounding shrubs, making the most of upturned grubs and worms. They really are very bold at this time of year and a pleasure to garden with, almost as much as the two girls.
