Go Back to Where You've Been
The day I moved into our first "bought" house, Si was away at Sea.
I was delighted however to be welcomed by my new neighbours who brought out tea on a tray, complete with biscuits and cake.
Sadly however, this warm welcome didn't last.
After I had been there a week or so, I was slowly building up our furniture, and gave them the key to the house to let the delivery driver in with our new suite. When I came home, I found the suite arrange in the living room, and the furniture I had already in place, re-arranged around it. Not only that, but my drawers had been "tidied" too.
I was horrified, and marched next door to retrieve the key.
The couple were very confused that I could possibly be upset that they had "organised" for me, because they had been watching me and noticed that I was very busy and were only trying to help. I watched unbelieving as they manourvered themselves around the lounge, to get between me and the door, and then told me they had a few things they had to tell me before I left.
I was then subjected to a list of do's and don'ts and who to, and who not to speak to. I stood in stunned silence, nodded my head, and grabbed my key and left.
I made sure I stayed well clear of them from then on, and for weeks after lay "traps", to re-assure myself that they hadn't copied the key and been in the house again.
I made friends with the neighbour on the other side of me, who also had been subjected to much worse from them, and forming an alliance with her, made me the subject of much staring and gossiping. Ah Well, at least I could just ignore her.
What they did do, to my constant harrassment was re-arrange my washing on a regular basis.
I would hang my washing out on my whirly, come home from work, and find it all re-hung, organised by colour and by size!
To this day, I make a concerted effort to ensure that I hang my washing, arse to elbow and mix every combination of colours I can!
And you thought I was mad!
