Journey Through Time

Busted!

Place: Outside our home
Time: 11:10 p.m.

I heard a vehicle that sounded like a truck outside and I wondered who was driving a truck down our street at that hour of the night. I saw some car lights, then I noticed that they were blinking red and white and blue. This red car, with a very noisy engine, had a lone occupant sitting at the wheel. A sheriff's patrol car was behind him. Officer approached vehicle and information was attained. We observed from our windows, of course. Action in the 'hood, after all. The officer looked the car over with his flashlight. Talked to the man. Looked at papers. Looked at the car some more. Then a second patrol car was there, with no lights flashing. The two officers chatted. The two officers approached the red car. More looking, some talking. Car door opens up and young man gets out of red car, turns around and is handcuffed. He is escorted to first patrol car and then second patrol car leaves. First patrol car sits for short time, and then backs out and heads out into the night. Red car is right where they left it. Supposedly a tow truck will come at some point and take it away. We shall never know the rest of the story.

PS Well, we did learn a little bit. Hubby went out to talk to the tow truck driver. A flat bed truck had to come in to take the car away, as it was lowered so much, it couldn't be towed the conventional way. Guess the young man was driving with a suspended license. So, nothing too dramatic.
