Kayak Roll

I went up the Matakitaki river today in the hope of spotting some kayakers. I was in luck as while I was there 10 kayakers arrived in various vehicles (9 of the individuals were from the Kayak School, the other was our local doctor).

Unfortunately, by the time they were in the water I was losing the light as there is a huge hill that blocks the sun very early on this patch of rapids. I wasn't really happy with any of my shots so I've created a montage of one of the kayakers rolling. Apparently there is a specific style and process to a "roll". Whether they get this process right or not I still think they're mad!
