New Jersey The Garden State

"The Garden State" Ha! That was our state motto and frequently considered a joke. Many people travel through the state via the NJ Turnpike, a highly industrialized area also known as the Armpit of America.
Consequently a widely held negative perception is derived from the only reference point most people have. What they see is a teeny tiny section of the state. There is so much natural beauty in New Jersey.
Oddly enough or just a Jersey Girl's experience, I love the view from the Turnpike, with all the lights from the refinery and airport and the low flying planes, and the the NYC skyline.
